Hanford Police Department's community-oriented philosophy helps maintain
Hanford's crime rate at half the state's average.
The Police
Department is organized into 7 program areas, School Resource Officer
Program, Narcotics Task Force, Problem Oriented Policing Program,
Traffic Enforcement, Operations - (general police), Records and
Communications, and Support Services. In addition the Support Services
Division includes the administration of the D.A.R.E. Program (Drug
Abuse Resistance Education).
The Narcotics
Task Force is also a cooperative effort between all law enforcement
agencies in Kings County.
A 911 emergency
call system is established.
